Junior docs refuse to budge, poor people suffer - Sakshi Post

Junior doctors are adamant and don't want to call off their strike. They would be on strike till their demands are fulfilled.

Even the government refuses to bow down. Amidst the fight, it's the people who are at loss. Poor people who can't afford private hospitals are the one suffering the most. Today is the third day and none of the parties are in the mood to call it truce.

Agitating junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh today boycotted emergency duties in government hospitals at several places to press for their demands. The medicos staged sit-ins and demonstrations in various cities like Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

They raised slogans against the state's Congress government and also displayed placards on which appeals, addressed to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and other top leaders to listen to their problems, were written.
They demanded clear guidelines for posting in rural areas and strengthening of government hospitals as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India (MCI).
The agitation by the junior doctors, which started a few days ago, inconvenienced the patients visiting government hospitals.
Meanwhile, Principal Secretary (Health) K R Kishore appealed to the medicos to call off their stir and resume duties.
