Jana Reddy gets a breather; court fines petitioner - Sakshi Post

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday dismissed the written petition seeking a CBI probe into Minister for Panchayat Raj, K. Jana Reddy's assets under Prevention of Corruption Act and Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The Court has dismissed the petition on the grounds that it does not qualify for hearing.  The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the petitioner.

It may be recalled here that social activist, VV Rao filed the petition in the court seeking a joint probe by the CBI, ED and income tax department into Jana Reddy's illegal assets.

The court once dismissed Rao's petition against Jana Reddy. However, VV Rao filed another petition with changes in his earlier petition alleging that he had amassed wealth through illegal means and demanded a high-level probe to unearth the facts.
