Jagan braves rain as Chennai victims pour out tales of woes - Sakshi Post

The grief-stricken family members of the Chennai building collapse victims have explained their sorrows and struggles to meet their daily needs to leader of opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

One woman who lost her husband told Jagan that many of women like her lost their husbands in the tragedy and their lives have been shattered. "Our lives are always in risk. The people in this village go to far-off places for work and return only after the kharif season begins. My husband too went to Chennai never to return," she said.

Another woman who survived in the collapse miraculously, explained about the horrific incident to Jagan. Teary-eyed Meenamma said that she fell unconscious under the pile of debris of the 11-stored building for two days. She spent two days besides the bodies of three other victims. She regained her conscious only after being admitted in the hospital.

Jagan consoled several families in Krishnapuram, Badangi in Dattirajeru mandal and Makkuva, Koamarada and Jiyyammavalasa mandals. 

Moved by their plights, Jagan said that his party will put pressure on the Tamil Nadu government and also builders of the building. " We will send a team of YSRCP members to TN to fight for compensation of Rs. 2 lakh it promised to the all the families of the victims. If required we will wage a legal battle with the Tamil Nadu government ," Jagan said.

Jagan was not dithered by the rain on Tuesday evening and called on every affected family.
