Jagan bail plea adjourned to September 23

Jagan bail plea adjourned to September 23 - Sakshi Post

The CBI court on Wednesday adjourned the bail petition hearing of YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy till September 23.

After hearing the arguments presented by lawyers from the CBI and those representing Jagan Mohan Reddy, the judge adjourned the case to till Monday.

The court is believed to have asked the investigating agency to state the reasons why Jagan's custody was required any longer.

The CBI opposed the plea of Jagan, saying releasing him on bail at this stage would affect the investigations as he may influence the witnesses.

Arguing on behalf of Jagan, his lawyer Sushil Kumar said since the investigations were completed, he is entitled to get bail.

In the bail plea, filed through his counsel, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that in view of the ongoing agitation in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions regarding bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, there was a need for him to be with the people and lead the stir as a leader of a political party.

After hearing both sides, the court has reserved its verdict.

Jagan was arrested by the CBI on May 27, 2012 and is presently under judicial remand in Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad.
