Implement Prohibition on Cock Fights Strictly: High Court

Hyderabad: AP and Telangana joint High Court has sternly warned that cock fights in Andhra Pradesh during Sankranti will not be allowed at any cost. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice SV Bhatt on Tuesday heard the case in a public interest litigation.
Narahari Jagadeesh Kumar of West Godavari district filed the PIL under the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act in 2014. As the cock fights went on without any restriction last festival season, he again moved the court seeking a strict prohibition on cock fights. HC has also ordered the police to take strict action against those who violate the law and conduct or participate in the cock fights.
