Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) national president Dr K Hemalatha - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) national president Dr K Hemalatha announced that CITU would organise a huge rally opposite the Parliament in New Delhi on September 5 protesting against anti labour policies of the Central government and corporate firms in the country.

Speaking at third state level LIC Working Woman Convention of AP and Telangana here on Saturday, Dr Hemalatha claimed that 93 per cent of women are working in the unaorganised sector who have no job security and enough income. She questioned how many women were receiving maternity benefits in private firms.

The CITU president alleged that the percentage of women working in the country has been decreasing gradually and women who work in agriculture sector were losing their jobs due to mechanisation. She said that more than 10 lakh teacher posts were unfilled across the country in primary and high schools.

Dr Hemalath said the state government was projecting about the ease of doing business in Telangana, but they have failed to provide jobs in private firms. Due to the corporate chain stores in the country, many private employees working in local shops have lost their jobs, she observed.

There was abundant natural and human resources in the country which the rulers have failed to make proper use of them, she added.
