The city police reunited the infant with her parents - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A new born baby girl who was allegedly kidnapped by a woman on Sunday from a private hospital in the city has been traced in Bidar by the police and handed over her to the mother late on Tuesday. Prompt action by the city police in coordination with the Bidar cops resulted in cracking the case in quick time.

The woman abducted the baby from her mother assuring that she would get her vaccinated and return. Trusting the child-lifter, the mother gave her baby to her as she was exhausted after waiting at the Government Maternity Hospital in Koti. The kidnapper then escaped from the hospital with the baby and boarded a Bidar-bound bus from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station.

With help of CCTV footage, the Sultan Bazar police got to know that the woman was on her way to Bidar. The police then soon rushed to Bidar and made enquiries with the RTC bus driver and conductor about the woman who alighted the bus at Naya Kaman area. The city police took the help of local police of Karnataka and widely circulated the pictures of the woman and child on all the local TV channels.

With the feared of getting caught by the police, looming large, the woman dropped the baby at a nearby government hospital and fled the spot. The hospital staff who were unable to find the child's parents informed the matter to police.

The Karnataka state police who found the baby travelled down to Hyderabad and handed over the baby to the city police, who then reunited the infant with her parents.
