Hyderabad metro rail cost escalates by Rs.2,500 cr - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad Metro Rail project has escalated by Rs.2,500 crore to Rs.3,000 crore, said L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (LTMRHL).

LTMRHL chief executive and managing director V. B. Gadgil told reporters here Tuesday that the project is in a "very very critical mode".

He said they have completed 28 percent of the project and were confident of overcoming all challenges.

The cost of the project at the time of signing of concessionaire agreement in 2010 was Rs.14,132 crore.

The LTMRHL is building 72-km elevated metro project in public private partnership.

The cost of the project was escalated due to hike in the prices of various materials used for construction of the route.

If the alignment at Sultan Bazar and assembly was changed, the cost of the project will be increased by another Rs.1500 cr.
