Hyderabad: With the Chennai IT industry coming to a grinding halt due to incessent rains, Hyderabad's IT hub has come forward to compensate the work

affected of their fellow counterparts in Chennai where the techies are going an extra mile by spending five to six hours to meet the deadlines of their fellow colleagues.

After Bengaluru, Chennai is the second largest IT hub in the country and its functioning has been stopped since Wednesday due to rains. As electrity was also badly affected, companies are not able to get the work done by employees from homes.

The Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) took an initiative and requested all the top IT companies to come to the rescue of Chennai. Without any delay the city techies have offered to take up the projects of their colleagues in Chennai.

Under Business Continuity Plan (BCP), employees are working an extra hour and they want to donate the extra pay they get for the work.

According to TITA, top companies like Infosys, IBM and Accenture would be affected badly. Though the rescue operations are on, it may take some time to bring back life to normalcy.
