Husband, wife drown in the Godavari river orphaning their kids

Parents of two children were washed away in Godavari river at Ramapadala Revu at Dowleswaram in the East Godavari district on Friday.

A family of four, including two children reached Ramapadal Revu for a holy dip, when their mother accidentally fell into the water. When her husband on the shore gave her his hand in a bid to rescue her, he also fell into the river, the police said.

However, the children on the bank are safe. Swimmer brought to Revu in order to trace their missing parents failed to do so, the police said.
