Geetha Reddy, DK Aruna reach out to Seemandhra people - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Several ministers from Telangana region on Thursday sought to allay fears of people from Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh regions over formation of separate Telangana state. The ministers appealed to people of the two regions to cooperate in the formation of separate state.

State Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy, Information Minister D K Aruna, Women and Child Welfare Minister Sunita Laxma Reddy told reporters in Hyderabad that people and employees from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema need not have any fears or feelings of insecurity.

Telangana and (new) Andhra Pradesh can co-exist peacefully and prosper, Geeta Reddy said. Asked about her name doing the rounds for the post of Chief Minister of proposed Telangana state, she said it was premature to talk about the matter as the first priority is formation of the new state. State Housing Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress Whip in Assembly E Anil were present on the occasion.

Replying to a query, Geeta Reddy said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy played a neutral role over the Telangana issue. Asked about Kiran Reddy allegedly not being active in administrative affairs, she evaded a direct reply and said the central leadership observed all citizens.
