Former minister Balaraju, 18 others on Maoists hitlist

  “Former minister Balaraju and about 18 other persons are on the ‘hitlist’ of Maoists,” said Visakhapatnam ASP Fakkeerappa.

The Maoists, who killed 16 personnel of the security forces in Chattisgarh recently, are trying to spread their tentacles of terror in Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) as well. 

Maoists have always had a strong presence in AOB.  They have formed about nine action teams in the area.
 

ASP said that they had alerted the entire Visakha agency area after they got inputs that the Maoists were trying to create bloodshed in the areas in view of the elections.
 
He said that the Maoists created the same scene during the last elections.
