Fire at books godown in Abids creates panic

Tension gripped Abids area near Koti in Hyderabad after a fire broke out at a books godown nearby.

A major fire broke out in a four-storied building at Boggulakunta on Wednesday morning, destroying all the books stored on the fourth floor godown.

As the thick smoke and flames enveloped the godown, the residents of the area feared that it would spread to other buildings too. The police has evacuated people from the other buildings in the neighborhood. Abids is one of the busiest places in the city where there's floating population.

The police revealed that the godown had no approval from the fire safety department.
