Fake RTA officials dupe lorry driver
A lorry driver was duped of Rs 8,000 on the Jangam-Suryapet road by two unidentified men, late on Saturday night.
The two men came in a car and stopped the lorry as it reached Nawabpet-Singarajupalli road. They identified themselves as RTA officials and asked the driver for vehicle papers. After, he showed them the papers, they claimed the papers as photocopies and not original and demanded Rs 8,000. They took the money and threw the papers and drove-off in the direction of Jangam.
This aroused the suspicion of the driver who rushed to Lingalaghanapuram police station and lodged a complaint.
