Everything is zero in Kiran's rule: Sharmila - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila cried foul on Congress and TDP for resorting to cheap tactics to woo voters in the local body polls.

In Kiran's rule profit is nil for farmers, no current for houses, no work for labourers, no development in State, no power for factories and no peace for people. However, liquor is perennially available, Sharmila said while addressing a mammoth gathering at Pitapuram Uppada Centre of  Kakinda Rural in East Godavari district..

"Saviour of farmers, YS Rajasekhara Reddy had allotted Rs 138 crore for the modernization of Eluru project, but Kiran Government has neglected it altogether. Because of this negligence, fields get submerged when it rains and gets dried up during drought. This project would have been completed if YSR was alive," the YSRCP leader said. After empathizing with the public who shared their problems with her, Sharmila assured them that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would complete the project if voted to power. She sought blessings from the people for YSRCP win in the local body polls.

"To save their reputation in the elections, ruling party and its protector TDP are making dirty plans. As part of it, they don't mind even tampering with the process of  SC/ST and BC reservations," Sharmila said.

Congress' possible tampering with seat reservation process in local body elections is a major cause for worry, said Sharmila.

"During YSR's regime, he had given a new lease of life to local body polls. He had assigned projects related to drinking water, medical and education to local bodies and alloted funds for the same. Rajasekhara Reddy has the credit of giving a decent  salary and providing protocol for Sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC members, Corporators and Mayors. He held local body polls in high regard. Unfortunately, the Congress and TDP leaders have no commitment towards SC/STs and BCs. They are betraying people with dirty politics," Sharmila asserted.

"Both the parties are planing to increase general category reservations in places convenient to them to win elections. If this happens, there would be major injustice to SC/STs and BCs. Chandrababu Naidu has kept mum even after being aware of all these. Isn't this proof enough for the deal between him and the Congress?", Sharmila asked, adding, "During YSR regime, 8,4000 seats were provided for the BCs while the Kiran rule is planning to give a mere 6,900 seats for BCs, " Sharmila told a large crowd that had gathered to cheer her at Pitapuram.

She observed that the Congress could possibly select the winnable seats of YSRCP candidates and declare them as reserved for SC/ST categories.

Sharmila's 'Maro Praja Prastanam' padayatra completed its 180th day on Sunday.

She began her foot march from Kumarapuram in East Godavari district in the morning. Sharmila will break for lunch after reaching Jalluru. The YSRCP leader will retire for the night after covering Samarlakota. She will cover a distance of 12.2 kms today.
