Humanity Scores Over Communal Divide As Muslim Man Breaks Ramzan Fast To Save Life Of Hindu

Tapash Bhagawati And Ranjan Gogoi - Sakshi Post

Humanity triumphed over religious norm as a Muslim man in Assam decided to break his Ramadan fast (Roza) midway so as to help a Hindu patient in dire need of blood. Panauallah Ahmed from Mangaldoi in Assam was religiously following the dawn to dusk practice of roza, one of the pillars of Islam strictly adhered to during the holy month of Ramzan.

Last week, he received a phone call from his roommate Tapash Bhagawati who sought his help in blood donate to one Ranjan Gogoi from Dhemaji district in Assam. Gogoi was recuperating from a tumour removal surgery which was conducted by surgeons at the APollo Hospital Guwahati.

Since no donor came forward to help him, Panauallah decided that humanity should override religious obligations when it came to saving life. Ahmed and his roommate Tapash who work at the Swagat Super Specialty Surgical Hospital In Guwahati donate blood on a regular basis. They are also active members of a highly popular facebook page—Teen Humanity, Blood donors and social activists in India.

The Facebook page which encourages blood donation and promotes social causes, shared a pic of the friends. Have a look...
