inhiN patharoN pe chal kar agar aa sako tau aao
mere ghar ke raaste meiN koi kahkashaaN nahiN hai

The shair is a relatively simple one which needs no interpretation. This is probably the one couplet by which Mustafa Zaidi is most remembered and remains a very popular shair. The same Ghazal has other romantic couplets written in conventional style as the one here reveals:
kisi zulf ko sadaa do, kisi aankh ko pukaaro
baDi dhoop paD rahi hai, koi saebaaN nahiN hai

Mustafa Zaidi hailed from Allahabad and wrote under the taKhallus, TeGh Allahabadi. He later moved to Pakistan where he joined the civil services, but was subsequently reported to have been dismissed. He died at a relatively young age (41) in a mysterious suicide incident.
