It is said that people who fast on Maha Shivaratri with all sincerity can appease Lord Shiva. However, there is no point if you are not aware what is to be eaten and what needs to be avoided on this festive occasion. There are reasons why you can or cannot eat a few things on this day. Although we will not get into whys and why nots, we will certainly give you food options you could use. People who fast should be aware that foods like rice, wheat and table salt are the most common things that avoided in some parts of the country. It is ideal to take fruits and you can substitute table salt with rock salt.
