Early action sought against culprit in OU student murder case - Sakshi Post

Protests in different forms by college students and other organisations continued for the second day on Wednesday against the murder of an Osmania University student.

Students of different colleges organised a protest rally from OU Arts College to Tarnaka circle. The participants raised slogans demanding stringent punishment to the culprit.

On Tuesday, a 24 year-old student named Aruna was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the house of her classmate Shiva Kumar in Old City.

Police said that a failed affair could be the reason for the murder and Shiva Kumar was absconding from the time her body was found at his house.

According to information, Aruna and Shiva Kumar knew each other for some time. She had completed B.Ed and was staying in a hostel as a non-boarder, while Shiva Kumar was staying in C hostel at  OU campus. On December 30, Aruna left the campus to appear for the NET exam and had not returned. She went to Shiva Kumar's home when his parents were out of town. Allegedly he strangled her to death, stuffed her body in a mat and fled from home.

Demanding the arrest of the culprit, the student organisations called for a bandh on Wednesday. All exams of OU have been postponed.

The students threatened to intensify their agitation if the government failed to take stringent action against the culprit.
