Dog enforces 'curfew' in University of Hyderabad - Sakshi Post

No protests, no strikes, but the University of Hyderabad campus wears a deserted look. It was curfew like situation on Friday evening. All this was due to a rabid dog which went on a biting spree.

The dog attacked and bit 30 people and forced many more to flee for their lives. The incident happened on Friday evening when the students and the staff were ambling back to their homes.

Groups of students tried hard to chase it away several times but managed to scoot into the jungles. With the rabid dog on prowl, the students were confined to their hostels.

The Students’ Welfare dean of the campus asked all the students to stick their hostels. GHMC’s dog catching unit was called to catch the dog. The dog must have come from Gopanpally village and has bitten the several villagers.

The students were taken to the medical centre on the campus and administered anti-rabies vaccine.
