Cong rules out replacing CM or Botsa

Congress today ruled out change of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy or PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana in Andhra Pradesh as a senior Union Minister dismissed reports that he had written to the AICC seeking their removal.

"Sometime back the high command has said that no changes are stipulated in Andhra Pradesh...... We stand by that," party spokesman Sandeep Dikshit told reporters in reply to a volley of questions on the issue.
  His remarks came close on the heels of Union Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo trashing reports which spoke of his writing to the high command and making a scathing attack on Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy and state unit chief B Satyanarayana Rao.
  I have not not written any letter either to high command or Sonia Gandhiji. No note has gone to the high command from me in the last four or five months.
  Since I am in Delhi, I go and tell them what is necessary. You have to ask the person who has written where this letter has come from. I have nothing to do with it. I have not sent any note in the last four or five months, he told reporters in Delhi.
  Replying to a query, he said it is for the high command to decide if a change in leadership is necessary in Andhra Pradesh and that it is not his job to go into that. My job is to look after my ministry.
Deo reiterated his views that bauxite mining in north coastal Andhra Pradesh (comprising Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts) be stopped.
  Reports in a section of the media today claimed that Deo had written a note to the Congress high command, describing the PCC president as mafia don and the Chief Minister as being ineffective.
   Dismissing the reports, Satyanarayana said he would not like to believe that the Union Minister had written such a note and that such stories could be part of a conspiracy against him.
   I dont think he (Kishore Chandra Deo) has written such a letter. I felt bad t hat such baseless allegations have been made. I will proceed legally on this. That there could be a conspiracy behind this is too obvious, he told reporters in Hyderabad earlier in the day
  Dikshit said If it has happened , he (Deo) is the best person to answer whether he has written any letter. I am not aware. It is for Deo to explain, he said.
  Dikshit replied in the negative when asked whether the AICC favoured disciplinary action against Deo.
  Andhra Pradesh is the only major state where the Congress is in power on its own. The issue of Telangana and the emergence of Jagan Reddy's party have created problems for the party in the state which has often seen demands for leadership change.
