College turns battlefield in Kakinada

The scene looks as if taken straight out of a Tollywood movie. Local boy talks to a girl from other state. Boys from her state feel jealous and attack the boy. Soon, the boys are equipped with tools (bats and sticks) which appear out of nowhere. Sounds filmyish?

Well, this is no reel but what happened for real in Kakinada. 12 students were injured and two of them were said to be critical after the students at an engineering college in Kakinada clashed.

According to reports, there was a clash between students from Bihar and Andhra Pradesh at the Aditya junior college in Kakinada in East Godavari district. The silly fight soon turned into a battle.

Eye witnesses say that students from Bihar attacked an Andhra boy for being friendly with a girl from their state. Enraged by this, there was a rift between both the groups. Soon as the fight started the college was divided into two groups.

Students beat each other with hockey sticks which created a war-like situation on the college premises. According to the latest reports coming in, the situation continues to remain tense. Large number of police personnel soon reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
