CM promises interest-free crop loans next fiscal
Andhra Pradesh government would provide interest-free crop loans to the tune of Rs 50 thousand crore from the next financial year, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said on Tuesday.
This fiscal, the government planned to give Rs 42 thousand crore rupees crop loans interest-free and the farmers had to pay back only the original loan amount while the government would pay the interest to the banks, he said.
Reddy was addressing a public meeting at Narayankhed in Medak district on the second day of his `Indiramma Bata' (on the path shown by Indiramma) mass-contact programme.
He alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was making false promises during his ongoing `padayatra' in the region about waiving off farmers' loans.
