CM Kiran ratifies Polavaram tenders to Transstroy

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy approved the tenders to Transstroy (India) Ltd for Polavaram project works as per the recommendations of the high power committee.

The committee on Saturday submitted its report favouring the bid to to L-1 Transstroy (India) Ltd. The contract is worth around 4,717 crore for the Polavaram Indirasagar Project execution. Transstroy (India) Ltd and JSC Engineering Centre UES (Russia), a Joint Venture company quoted highest bid and obtained the status of L-1. Following a series of controversies, the Polavaram project faced many hurdles following allegations over awarding the contract.  Transstroy (India) Ltd is understood to have owned by Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, MP from Guntur. The company secured the contract out of six companies which had filed the tenders for the execution of the project.
