Cheating, Forgery, Misuse of Power and Conspiracy haunt Ramoji - Sakshi Post

Media baron Ch Ramoji Rao was dealt yet another blow by a special unit of ACB, which intensified the probe under six  sections of  cheating, forgery, misuse of power and conspiracy against him.

The probe relate to the land that Ramoji Rao had surrendered to the government for road widening in Visakhapatnam. It was reported that the land did not belong to him in the first place. The government assigned alternative sites to him in two locations—Rao had also surrendered a portion of the land in the premises of Eenadu office at Seethammadhara in Visakahapatnam.
However,  M A E K Krishna Varma, the owner of the land on which the Eenadu press and office are currently located now, filed a case against the media baron and his son, alleging that Rao illegally surrendered seven cents of land to the state government for expansion of the road and claimed an alternative piece of land.
It may be recalled that Varma gave his land on lease to Ramoji Rao to help Rao set up his newspaper, but the latter had misrepresented facts relating to the ownership of the land to the authorities. Rao claimed he had 'surrendered' land to the government for road widening and sought alternative sites.
The Central Investigation Unit (CIU) of the Anti Corruption Bureau registered a case against Ramoji Rao and his son Ch Kiran. Ramoji was initially granted a stay by the court recently, which was later vacated by the court which asked the ACB to intensify the probe.
