Chain snatching, thefts to splurge on girlfriends - Sakshi Post

The trio of Nedunuri Sravan Kumar, Tongari Ramu and Bokari Sunil Raj are friends and partners in crime. All aged below 20 years 'without' work and 'with' girlfriends, they found chain snatching and bike theft as an easy means to earn money and fund their expenses.

According to Karimnagar SP Joel Davis, 50 tolas of gold worth Rs. 20 lakhs and 11 bikes were recovered from the trio. Presenting details of the case, the SP said Sravan Kumar belonged to Erukulla in Karimnagar, Ramu was from Mancheryal in Adilabad and Sunil Raj was from Gaureddipeta in Peddapalli mandal.

They resided in Peddapalli and travelled by bus to Karimnagar to steal numberless bikes at night. They created an impression of multiple gangs in operation by committing the crime individually and sometimes in groups. They either sold the stolen bikes or used them for chain snatching, the SP said.

However, their luck ran out on October 4 when on a chain snatching operation they were caught red-handed by the police in Vidyanagar in Karimnagar town. The SP added that a total of 30 cases are pending against them in various police stations.
