Bus Passenger Loses Eye After Auto Driver Throws Stone

Vishakapatnam: In a tragic incident, an argument between a bus driver and an auto driver caused a serious injury to the eye of a passenger in a bus at Gopalapuram on Wednesday.

According to the police, Sheik Surajuddin (36), a native of Naiduthota, Durga Nagar is working as a car driver in the city. On June 25, he boarded a bus at the post office. After a couple of minutes, the bus driver allegedly quarrelled with an auto driver on a traffic issue. The duo abused each other and in a fit of rage, the auto driver pelted a stone at the bus driver which accidentally hit Surajuddin. He was immediately shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared that he had lost his left eye.

Police registered a case and collected the details of all the auto drivers in the area to nab the accused. Meanwhile, the victim's wife is seeking government help in getting her husband treated. Surajuddin makes his living by renting his car and also works as a driver. He has a wife and two children.
