Brain Dead Vamsikrishna’s Heart, Liver Rushed To Hyderabad From Vijayawada 

Hyderabad: A brain dead youth's family was brave enough to donate all the important organs of his body in Vijayawada and the heart and liver were rushed to Hyderabad within two hours on Wednesday.

Vamsikrishna belonging to Jaggayyapet in Krishna district was working as a network administrator at Mandava Engineering College and he fell sick on Monday. He was undergoing treatment for high fever and severe headache at Andhra Hospital in Vijayawada. His condition grew serious and he was finally declared brain dead on Wednesday morning.

Showing grit and resolve in the hour of grief, Vamsikrishna's parents Venugopal Rao and Rajeshwari came forward to donate all the useful parts of their son's body through Jeevan Dan Trust.

The eyes were donated to Vasan Eye Hospital and two kidneys were given to two different hospitals in Vijayawada. The heart and liver being highly sophisticated, they were sent to Hyderabad through a green channel from the hospital to Gannavaram airport. A green channel is arranged in this kind of situations to ensure the entire route is clear during the transit by stopping all other traffic.

After the parts arrived in Hyderabad through a special flight, the heart was sent to Apollo hospital and the liver was donated to Yashoda hospital.
