Blast in fire cracker unit, 13 feared dead

In a tragic mishap, 13 persons are feared dead on Monday after a fire broke out at a crackers factory at Vakatippa village of Uppada Kottapalli mandal in East Godavari district.

The incident took place around 3 pm. Fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to douse the flames. At least five more people are battling for life with serious burn injuries. Sources said there were at least 30 persons working in the unit. It is also not clear whether the unit was illegal.
