BJP writes to GoM, reiterates commitment to Telangana - Sakshi Post

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has urged the central government to table a bill for the formation of Telangana state in the upcoming winter session of parliament.

In a letter to the Group of Ministers (GoM) constituted to consider the issues regarding the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the BJP said it remained committed to the formation of a Telangana state with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its capital.
BJP state president G. Kirshan Reddy demanded that the central government immediately table the bill in parliament and reiterated his party’s support to the bill.
“At the same time, BJP demands the government of India to address the concerns of the Seemandhra people in terms of water sharing, safety and security, employees and other issues during bifurcation,” he wrote.
The BJP asked the central government to come out with a comprehensive development plan for the all round development of both the states of Seemandhra and Telangana.
He criticized the Congress and the central government for seeking feedback of other parties without making a commitment on the timeline to bring Telangana bill and to address various issues.
The GoM had sought reports from eight political parties by Nov 5. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Communist Party of India-Marxist have decided not to submit the reports.
The GoM has also decided to hold meetings with the eight parties Nov 11 and 12 to hear them individually on bifurcation and related issues.
