IAS Officers Unhappy With Chandrababu’s Comments On Chief Secretary

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Senior IAS officers expressed their displeasure over the comments of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who described Chief Secretary (CS) LV Subramaniam as co-accused in the Emaar case.

The officers questioned Chandrababu on calling Subramaniam as co-accused even after the High Court dismissed the cases filed by the CBI.

"How can a person who is in the position of the Chief Minister call an official with the highest ranking in the state government as a covert? Is this what he claims to be his 40 years experience? There is no connection with the authorities if he says anything on the political front. But the Chief Minister terming the state's highest ranking officer as a covert is unacceptable," senior IAS officials said.

The AP IAS officers' association has objected to the comments of the Chief Minister. The IAS officials are expected to make a decision to condemn the comments made on CS. The association further plans to lodge a complaint with the Governor seeking action against Chandrababu. Some IAS officials said that the Association would convene a meeting and submit a recommendation to the Governor.

Former chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao said that Chandrababu calling LV Subramaniam an accused is a mistake when High Court has quashed all proceedings against him. "After the high court gave a clean chit, no one can call him accused. The comments made by the CM are misleading people. It is not possible to make false accusations by lying. One of the CS's responsibilities is to go to the Police headquarters. He has done nothing wrong but fulfilled his responsibilities."
