New Delhi: In a startling revaluation, BJP official spokesperson and Coordinator of AP and Telangana, Purighalla Raghuram said that TDP leader Kodela Siva Prasad Rao expressed intent to join the BJP last month.

Speaking to Sakshi TV on Wednesday, Raghuram expressed his condolences over the death of the TDP leader and former speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, who died on Monday. Raghuram said that Chandrababu had disowned Kodela Siva Prasad Rao which had left him in mental agony.

Kodela was not given due respect by his own party members and that he had told him about this over a phone call a month ago. "We had long conversation and Kodela told me that the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu had completely neglected him and said that there was no place for people who are committed and work for the party interests”.

He also revealed that after being sidelined by the TDP was mentally distressed and expressed his intentions to join the BJP. He wanted to meet Amit Shah in this connection. I told him that I would talk to the Party High Command. He said that he would come to Delhi shortly, however, unfortunately, he could not meet Amit Shah and passed away.

The BJP leader said that he did not expect that the TDP leader would commit suicide and that it was quite shocking that a leader of his stature would do so. The BJP Spokesperson said that Kodela was a respected leader in Palanadu and served the interests of people both as doctor and a as Political leader. Raghuram said that both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governments should conduct a comprehensive investigation over the death of the former Speaker.

The senior TDP leader and former Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, died in Hyderabad on Monday. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his bedroom by his daughter and was immediately taken down with the help of his gunman and driver. The 72-year old leader was rushed to a hospital where he died after failing to respond to treatment.
