Cyberabad Police on Friday arrested two employees of a cargo service company and recovered 4.8 kg of gold ornaments, worth Rs 1.20 crore, which they allegedly stole from Shamshabad airport last month.

V Manoj Kumar and A Satyanarayana Raju, both employees of Royal Express Cargo Pvt Ltd at Begumpet, were arrested on charges of stealing one consignment of parcel containing gold and jewels on February 7. They used to look after the cargo bookings and receiving the parcels from other cities. With their experience, they were aware that gold is also being sent through cargo from various cities.
On February 7, a consignment of 132 parcels came by a private airlines from Kolkata. Kumar concealed one parcel of gold ornaments and entered in the cargo register that he received only 131 parcels. Later, he and his associate Raju took the parcel to the residence of one of them and shared the spoils equally between them.
Based on a complaint, airport police had booked a case and, during the course of investigation, nabbed them from a location here and recovered the entire stolen property from them.
