Action against 'Brahminism' film makers promised
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambica Soni today announced that stringent action would be initiated against the producers of the film “A Woman In Brahmanism”.
The Union Minister said that some offensive scenes are uploaded into the internet only to get some chap publicity for the film.
Making clear that the objectionable parts of the film that are seen on the websites were not passed by the Central Censor Board, Ambica Soni said that action would soon be initiated against the producer and the director of the film for resorting to such cheap gimmicks like portraying women in a very bad taste in the film. Also, those responsible for uploading such objectionable material onto the internet also will be brought to book.
The Union Minister is understood to have also sent a reply to Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar to this effect, who had earlier brought to the notice of the Union Minister the series of protests going on in Andhra Pradesh against the film.
Brahmins across the State took to streets strongly condemning the indecent scenes in the film and also demanded stringent action against the film producer besides totally banning the movie in the country. Also, cutting across party lines a delegation of political leaders met Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy and demanded punitive action against the film makers.
