4 buried alive as wall caves in

Four dailywage labourers were buried alive under the debris of a wall that caved in on them at a construction site near Hotel Tycoon in Sripuram area of Vizag on Thursday.

As many as 12 labourers were working at the construction site on the busy VIP Road here when suddenly the under-construction wall came down on them. The four labourers got buried under the debris and died of suffocation, he said. While three bodies were retrieved, the fourth remains to be pulled out. All the bodies bore no injury marks, indicating that the death was only due to asphyxiation.
Heavy rains for the past few days may have caused the wall to weaken and cave in. The deceased were identified as Ramu, Paradesi, Somesh and Krishna. Two of the deceased were from Odisha.
