20 children injured as lorry rams into school bus near Tirupathi

Chittoor: As many as 20 school children were grievously injured when their school bus and a lorry collided at Tanapalli near Tirupathi on Wednesday.

Police reached the spot immediately on getting the information. They rushed the injured children to nearby Ruia hospital. The condition of the students is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, Police took the lorry driver into custody and and begun investigations.

This is the second major incident involving school bus. On July 24, a train crushed a school bus stranded on railway tracks in Medak district, killing 16 children.
