14-year-old wonder boy from Vizag designs almost everything - Sakshi Post

Vishakapatnam: P. Shanmukh, a 14-year-old boy from Vishakapatnam has earned the epithet of ‘wonder boy’. The boy is popular for his ability to design a model of almost all the objects that he comes across, He is truly a wonder, as he has already achieved a lot more than a lot of kids of his age. The boy has already discovered many circuits of complex electronic machines, all of a single keen observation.

Shanmukh has already manufactured a lot of electronic products with whatever parts were available. Shanmukh, son of a TV mechanic who could not even afford a computer, broke all the odds and launched his own animated short film on how the species of sparrows are going extinct because of the urbanization. “I spent an hour and a half for two months at a computer lab to make the short film, I don’t have a computer at home”, Shanmukh said.

He also reveals that he is working on another short film which will be based on child labour.

On being asked about how he discovered his son’s interest and talent in the field of electronics, Shanmukh’s father said that it all started when he took the boy for a rope-way ride at Kailashagiri when he was 11-years-old. “His curiosity about the mechanism of the rope-way was when I first noticed his interest in electronics, I had no answer when he questioned me about the working model of the rope, and I dodged the question as I did not know how it worked. Two days later, to my surprise he showed me the working model with the spare parts that I left at home”, Shanmukh’s father said.
