Rahul Takes On Modi on Twitter, With a Touch of Humor

Nothing like lacing your words with a dash of humor, to rub it in - Sakshi Post

The BJP and Congress stage epic battles on social media with their top leaders sparring with their rivals. Quite unsurprisingly, their followers jump into the thick of the fray, dragging journalists, analysts and others into these Facebook and Twitter wars.

Ever since Ramya Aka Divya Spandana became the new chief of Social Media for Congress, Rahul Gandhi has been on a tweet roll, so to say. It's as if he is competing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter. Modi it always appeared, was streets ahead of the Congress scion, but it now looks as if Rahul is in a hurry to catch up with him in this race. The Congress leader also realises that it is a question of optics.

In recent days, Rahul has flooded the micro-blogging site with a spate of tweets on almost every topic under the Sun. The latest news to have caught his fancy is the recently released Tamil film Mersal featuring Illayathalapathy Vijay in the lead role. It's worth mentioning here that the BJP launched a tirade against the makers of this blockbuster for mocking Modi's Digital India, GST and Demonetisation campaign.

The Congress leader, who till now, used to remain mum on even matters of national importance took it upon himself to defend the film saying cinema was a creative medium and that the BJP was demon-itizing Tamil Pride. All one can say is Wow! Now is this sudden wake up from slumber because of the upcoming elections or is it his preparation to take on the reins of the country's oldest political outfit? That remains a riddle inside an enigma.

All said and done, Rahul seems to be taking active interest in world affairs. And may we add, the Congress leader has been bombarding tweets with a hint of sarcasm and humor that have not failed to catch the attention of his followers and critics alike. Nothing like lacing your words with a dash of humor, to rub it in.
