Kishan Reddy Takes Lead To Include Amaravati In India’s Map

New Delhi: Union of State for Home, G. Kishna Reddy took lead to include Andhra Pradesh Capital-Amaravati-in Central Government’s map (India Map), which was missing earlier. Taking to Twitter, Minister Kishan Reddy said, "Taking note of the issue of Amaravati missing from the map, raised by MPs of AP in the Parliament yesterday, I took up the matter with those concerned. The error has been rectified. Here is the revised map of India."

The Survey of India has released the corrected version of India Map, including Amaravati after Kishan Reddy instructed the officials to take immediate steps to include AP’s Capital.

The issue was raised by YSRCP MPs led by Mithun Reddy and also Guntur MP Jayadev Galla in Parliament.

Mithun Reddy and Jayadev have thanked Union Minister Kishan Reddy for take immediate remedial measures. "Thanks Kishan Reddy garu for taking prompt action after my Zero Hour intervention in Parliament yesterday, and including the new capital of Andhra Pradesh on the new political map of India. Amaravati will happen."-said Jayadev.

The new map was issued after reorganisation of the new union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, which was officially done on October 31.

Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated in 2014 and while it was initially decided that Hyderabad would serve as the common administrative capital for a period of 10 years, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu soon announced the state's capital as Amaravati.

The YS Jagan’s government countered this, and claimed that the TDP government had failed to notify Amaravati as the capital, as no official gazette notification had been issued.

Recently, the Minister for Municipal Administration Botcha Satyanarana blamed Chandrababu for Andhra Pradesh being depicted without a capital city in the map published by the Survey of India. "No Gazette notification was issued during Chandrababu’s five-year term which was wasted on unproductive things," Botsa said.
