Picture Of Two Men ‘Surfing’ An Endangered Turtle Enrages Netizens

Australia: Two men who posted a picture of themselves 'surfing' an endangered turtle on their Instagram account have since then received a lot of criticism for their outrageous act. The images went viral before the men deleted them and have so far received widespread condemnation.
Meanwhile the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) which has investigated the incident said they were taking this matter seriously and investigating further. According to them, the maximum penalty for interfering with an endangered species such as the Green Turtle, was upto $20,000.
The photograph of the two men standing atop the green turtle and posted with caption "Surfed a tortoise on zee weekend … gnarly duddddeeeee" has annoyed a lot of netizens who have both shared the picture and condemned the act.
A QPWS spokesperson stated that there was evidence to suggest that the turtle was dead when the picture was taken. This however does not diminish the nature of the act especially towards an endangered species.
