Over 5,000 Students Register for Karnataka’s New Study Abroad Scheme

 - Sakshi Post

Karnataka's new Study Abroad scheme has received an unprecedented number of applications, with over 5,000 students enrolling in a matter of days. The program, launched by the Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC), is designed to provide international education to students across all sections of society and particularly to those who cannot afford it.

The program is aimed at extending monetary assistance, free career counseling, and welfare support so that students can seek foreign higher education without relying on expensive private agencies. The government assured that the whole process is transparent and devoid of any secret fees, opening equal opportunity for everyone.

Financial Aid and Loan Assistance

One of the largest challenges of studying abroad is the expense on the families. To deal with this, the government of Karnataka has collaborated with banks like Karnataka Bank to provide student-friendly education loans. These are designed in a way that minimizes repayment pressure and allows the students to focus on their studies instead of financial burdens.

Support Beyond Borders

Differing from traditional consultancy services, the scheme provides its support even after students leave the country. The recipients will enjoy the benefit of legal advice, welfare services, and academic tracking so they can feel a continued sense of connection with the state. The authorities feel this system of long-term support distinguishes the initiative as a complete model for overseas education.

A Landmark Initiative

Addressing the occasion, Sharanaprakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood, termed the project a first-of-its-kind in India. "This programme makes foreign education no longer the luxury of a select few but a reality for all deserving students," he asserted.

Looking Ahead

With already thousands registered and a forthcoming expo likely to draw more candidates, the Karnataka government wants this scheme to be a template for other states. By integrating money, welfare, and openness in procedures, the program will change the way Indian students achieve international education.
