Centre Owes Andhra Pradesh Rs 4,052 Crore in GST Arrears

NEW DELHI: The Central government stated that it owed Andhra Pradesh a total of Rs 4,052 Crore in GST arrears.

Union Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary stated this in a reply to a question posed by several MPs on GST arrears in the Lok Sabha Monsoon Session which commenced on Monday. As part of the Special Borrowing Plan, the GST Council has decided to provide Rs 1.10 lakh Crore to the States for 2020-21 and Rs 1.59 lakh Crore for 2021-22.

It was revealed that Rs 75,000 Crore was released to the States on the 15th of this month.

The Finance Ministry stated that it owed AP Rs 2,493 crore for 2020-21 and Rs 1,559 crore for 2021-22.

It also had to pay the neighbouring state of Telangana, Rs 2,515 crore for 2020-21 and Rs 1,558 crore for 2021-22.
