Andhra Pradesh EAPCET 2021: 25 Percent Intermediate Weightage Marks Removed

No weightage to Inter marks in EAPCET this year in Andhra Pradesh - Sakshi Post

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education on Tuesday  has decided to remove the 25 percent weightage of Intermediate weightage marks for the Engineering, Agriculture, Pharma admissions (EAPCET) this year.

" With the cancellation of Intermediate examinations due to the Coronavirus pandemic this year as well, admissions in BTech, Bpharmacy and Agriculture courses will be based on the marks obtained in AP EAPCET. Admissions will be based on 100 percent written test marks in EAPCET. We will conduct examinations for admissions in engineering courses from August 19 to 25 and for admissions in agriculture and pharmacy courses on September 3, 6 and 7."

                                               - Prof M Ramalinga Raju EAPCET Chairman and JNTU-K vice-chancellor

It may be recalled that the Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh had announced that the AP Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Joint Entrance Test (EAPCET-21) will be conducted from August 19 to 25.

Earlier 75 per cent weightage used to be given for marks in EAMCET earlier and 25 per cent for marks obtained by students in Intermediate examinations.  EAMCET ranks used to be declared considering the total marks in EAMCET and Intermediate examinations. The norm will not be followed this year due to cancellation of Intermediate exams, he explained.

EAPCET was formerly known as EAMCET. The letter 'M' has been replaced with the letter 'P' from EAMCET as a separate examination (NEET) is being conducted nationally for admissions in medicine. This was changed by the AP Government and henceforth EAMCET will be know as EAPCET.

The Board of Intermediate Examination of Andhra Pradesh, BIEAP, released the AP Inter 2nd year results on July 23, 2021. AP Education Minister Dr Audimulapu Suresh conducted a press meet and announced the results.
