Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala Will Become BJP’s Strongholds: Amit Shah - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Exuding confidence that soon Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala would become the strongholds of BJP, party national president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah said it was for people of Telangana to decide whether they wanted their State to be the first among the three states to become BJP’s bastion.

After winning a massive mandate for the second consecutive term for BJP and personally taking over as Union Home Minister, Amit Shah visited Telangana for the first time on Saturday. The visit holds significance in wake of reports that the State is on BJP’s radar to expand its footprint following party’s surprising win in four Lok Sabha seats in Telangana against a strong ruling TRS.

Referring to BJP’s performance in Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, which secured 19 percent of vote, a huge jump from earlier tally, he said, "You have laid a strong foundation on which the party will build a grand building.” He said the party stood a chance to form a government in the State soon.

Shah was in Hyderabad to launch party’s membership drive in Telangana, revising the earlier set target of 12 lakh to 18 lakh. He gave away first membership card to a tribal woman Jatvathi Soni Naik by visiting her home in Mamidipally village in Ranga Reddy district.

He urged the party cadres to enroll people from all sections of the society, pointing out that he was keen to see an inclusive organisation.
