Karnataka police fired at gangster in Hindupur - Sakshi Post

Hindupur people in Anantapur district shivered with the big sounds of gun firings in their town on Sunday morning.

Mutual gun firings took place between Kunigal Giri gang and the Bangalore police in the town.

There are about 100 cases of extortion against Kunigal Giri and he hided himself in the town after he got inputs that Karnataka police had started manhunt for him.

The police team, led by a senior IPS officer, raided the camp of the gangster in Hindupur.

Giri was injured in the police firing and he is being treated at a hospital in Hindupur presently.

Police have recovered two revolvers and two bullets from Giri. Govinda, one of the gang members of Giri, was also injured in the police firing.

Bangalore City Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar said that Govinda was being treated at Ambedkar Hospital in Bangalore.
