Vizag: School Auto Rams Into Lorry, Kids Severely Injured

A distressing visual of an autorickshaw ramming into a speeding lorry at Visakhapatnam came to the light. The incident took place on Wednesday (22 November) early morning at around 7.30 am near Sarath Theatre. The autorickshaw carrying eight students hit the lorry. As per onlookers, the autorickshaw's driver was at fault resulting in this accident. The video is going viral on social media platforms.

This incident resulted in severe injuries to the school-going kids. The students who were injured in the accident are identified as Hasini Priya, G Gayatri, Vani Jaya Ramya, Bhavesh, Lakshya, Charvik, Kushal KG and Kayush. All the students belong to Bethany school. One among them's condition is critical, say reports.

While the lorry driver is on the run, the onlookers have caught the lorry cleaner and handed over him to the police. Traffic ACP Rajeev spoke to Sakshi media. He said a case has been booked under rash and negligent driving and the investigation is underway. Responding to the accident, YSRCP's YV Subba Reddy assured that the state government would standby the victims in these tough times and bear the hospital expenses.
