HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended heartfelt condolences over the demise of noted film director Kalatapasvi K Viswanath who passed away late on Thursday night. “His name will be etched in the annals of the Telugu film industry forever,” KCR said.

The Chief Minister said that Viswanath was one of those rare film directors' who could turn an ordinary story into a classic poetic visual on the silver screen with his amazing talent.

Further, KCR said India’s traditional values and culture were given a lot of importance in Viswanath’s films. He said Viswanath was a great Indian director, who depicted conflicts that arise in human relationships, with music and literature as the main theme through his movies. Many prestigious awards like Dada Saheb Phalke and Raghupathi Venkaiah are a testament to the talent of K Viswanath as a director.

The Chief Minister recalled a discussion between Viswanath and him on movies, music and literature when the former visited the ailing director’s home earlier.

Quoting the last verse from Viswanath’s film Sagara Sangamam, “Jayanthi Te Sukritino, Rasasiddha Kaveeswarah. Nasti tesham yasah kaye, jaramaranajam bhayam- Poets and scholars have no birth and death,  their fame is immortal and this sonnet is apt to Vishwanath garu,” he stated in his condolence message.

He was a stalwart of the cinema world, distinguishing himself as a creative and multifaceted director. His films covered various genres and enthralled audiences for decades. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti, " he tweeted in his message shared on his micro blogging siter.
