Amaravati/New Delhi: Amid the violent clashes in the hill state Manipur, the YSRCP-led Andhra Pradesh government is making efforts to bring back the stranded students from the state who are held up in Imphal.

The state government wrote to the Ministry of Civil Aviation seeking its help in evacuating the stranded students from the state. The government has arranged two special flights on Monday to airlift the 157 hapless students from the violence-hit Manipur.

The flights will land at Hyderabad and Kolkata airports and from there the government officials would make further travel arrangements for these students to their native places in Andhra Pradesh. The APSRTC buses will transport these students to their respective hometowns in the state.

The Telugu students are doing courses in National Institute of Technology, the Indian Institute of Information Technology and the Central Agriculture University in the strife-torn Manipur.

Earlier, the state government had set up a Control Room at the AP Bhavan in the national capital. The coordinators at the control room successfully tracked down the location of Telugu states in Manipur and coordinated with the officials of the hill state to evacuate the students.
