AMARAVATI: In the light of the misinformation propaganda, particularly articles being written in opposition-affiliated media by 'so-called financial experts', who are making statements on Andhra Pradesh State finances, clearly exposes their lack of basic understanding of public finances, and clear bid on their part to mislead and create a panic amongst the people that the State is on the brink of financial collapse.  

Special Secretary (finance and economic affairs) to the Chief Minister, Duvvuri Krishna held a press meet on Thursday where clarifications were issued before the public to dispel such rumors.  He expressed ire over one such expert named GV Rao’s wrong analysis of the financial situation of AP which was being published in the Eenadu Telugu paper on a regular basis. He said that guarantees can be given to public sector organizations subject to the FRBM Act. The AP government is providing details on the debts of public sector organizations from time to time. He said that they (Yellow Media) are spreading false propaganda about the economic situation of AP.

Every week or fortnight, this media house is publishing stories about the debts in AP and spewing venom on Chief Minister  YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's government. These media houses are calling a few people branding them as economic experts and making them talk. These people are speaking according to the whims and fancies of the Telugu Desam Party and in short, revealing their weakness, Duvvuri Krishna said.

Recently they made GV Rao speak and he was parroting the same comments and statements made by the TDP which exposed his true colors. The ‘so-called expert’ did not present even a single figure to substantiate his claims. He has passed disparaging remarks not only against the State but also against institutions like RBI CAG etc. The intent of the opposition-affiliated media and the extent to which they can stoop is quite apparent, the Special Secretary stated.
