Scores Injured as Tempo Overturns on Tirumala Ghat Road

Tirumala: Several passengers were injured as the tempo they were travelling in overturned at the 6th curve on Tirumala Ghat road in Tirumala on Monday. The tempo was ferrying the devotees from Kolar district in Karnataka. 

The TTD officials rushed to the accident site and shifted the injured persons to Ruya hospital. Some critically injured devotees were shifted to BIRRD hospital. The devotees claimed the accident occurred due to reckless driving as the driver was talking on phone while navigating the turn on the ghat road. 

TTD Executive Officer Dharma Reddy visited the hospital and enquired about the medical assistance being provided to the injured devotees. He said it is unfortunate that this is the second road accident on Tirumala Ghat road. The TTD official also said the authorities should take preventive steps to avoid these incidents in the future.
